Re write of Briefs!!

Drop dead clothing

Brief-

We want you to design at least 7 computer based design drawings to be submitted and evaluated. We would like mock ups of the 5 best items of clothing and other colours, layouts or filters proposed.

The audience -

For males and females 16-25. The range is to be sold online and at the new flag ship store featured on Londons Brick lane.

The problem-

Our drop dead designer has sadly left our company and we need a replacement who can carry out his job following the requirements - refer to his work on www.iheartdropdead.com

The requirements -

The T shirts imagery must link in with quotes taken from the new album of the founders BMTH 'there is a hell believe me i've seen it' we would like each illustration to be different and mimic that of our range featured online (reference above)

(We want you to complete these image based drawings by familiarising yourself using the Wacom tablet and using adobe illustrator for appearance purposes)

Deliverables -

At least one mocked up item of clothing with a proposed Wacom illustration (physical)

All the other proposed clothes mocked up online and in print

Printed posters of selected designs

Distributed digitally (background layouts, website, posters, promotion)

What will you get out of it?

The aim of this brief is to learn how to use the Wacom tablet and experiment with different methods of printing experimentation

What will you get out of it?

An extension of promotional abilities to contribute to putting my work in other contexts

T shirt printing

In the process of producing my heat transfer prints a few things went wrong and created some learning curves to take into further consideration when in this process.

-100% cotton does not take the colour transfer to its full potential and therefore the outcomes are faded instead many man made materials are better Polyester is one of these
- Colours of material is limited to light colours, the darker the shirt the less that will be seen
-When using the heat press first thing in the morning or that day be cautious of what else will be transferred onto the pale tops i.e. two new t-shirts just had a yellow colour printed onto them from material transfer from other students that settled over night and now need washing as they appear to have tea poured down them.
-If you want a bright print, get it done professionally for quality reasons, it would be more expensive but worth the process

Women and hoods

Within the context I chose to take a look at female ranges of clothing, these items are skinnier in a way and need to have the image fitted in a way which compliments them as well as the design.

Green looks really cool as a background colour, it is vibrant stands out and creates a wealthy attention.

Pink in my opinion doesn't look like it is settled quite right.

I then thought about cold weather wear such as hooded sweatshirts.

The designs would be on the back as there is more room and would be big

I think that a lot of these look really cool and fits well around the frame

The red is cool but the layout could be missing something so I began to experiment

White looks amazing in my opinion

This is to stretched out and it looks a bit odd

Red and blue are a clash but this item could get away with it.

Grey is suited so much better for women's wear

subliminal looks really cool as well

I found that that the designs really complimented some of the fashion wear used today

I strongly agree that these could be seen out on the market and in retail

providing the image layout fits well

The issue with this is that the design is so wide it wouldn't go bigger to fit the Tank tops limits for print.
