As always I started off my illustration by laying down the fine lines and building up a degree of texture upon hem to make them stand out. I chose to do a symmetry design to save time.

Once all the body was done I thought it would be a cool idea if (like a dyson hover) the skeleton of the God rested on a ball which separated man from fish, I thought how can I really make it look relevant, which is when I came up with the idea of drawing a ribcage holding the planet in place.

It was a risky idea but looking at the outcome I got really confident with the design and loved how it was looking at its early stage of design.

I chose a bronze colour for the skin to give a golden glow as it is stated the Gods have in old mythology... or Disney's Hercules.
The scales look really good, I am very pleased with the outcome of the project up to this point as a lot of it was constructed as I went along and it was a challenge to draw.

The rib cage needed to fit in to the design scale wise and in composition in order for it all to lay out and look correct.

I needed the planet in the rib cage to look detailed and as real as possible, I think I managed this by using different strokes and a combination of colours found on mostly water based planets with little land.

Once it got to this point I had to reflect the image and work out how it looked once put together as one.
After quite a bit of tampering I came up with a solution to the joining of two halves which I will show in a moment, One main issue was that the planet did not look right free flowing with the body, I wanted it to look like it was inside, so I added a series of pink layers to look like inner skin.
The trident was my way of escaping the centre problems, looking at type faces I thought a bad boy one would look good, I chose this type face as it suited the illustration with power.
