For some reason people enjoyed my storyboard illustrations, which was above my head as they didn't take exactly long, some suggestions were made that I should do the movement part in my film as these characters, which I strongly disagreed with. Due to the fact I thought the quality compared t the photography was far to much of a drastic change in quality, than to a vector change.

So your blog has been updated since the crit last week, so apologies if this is now a bit out of date..
ReplyDeleteYou've identified a problem and responded appropriately with lots of research and development, especially regarding the visual quality of your work. I will say however that I couldn't find a statement of intent or anything similar outlining the direction your response when this breif was first set... You might want to rectify that!
Contextual understanding and research are both evident, though some bits of critical analysis of the work you have been looking at wouldn't go amiss.
It's obviously a difficult task to put together a coherent submission whilst learning a new piece of software, I think you've done a good job as regards experimenting in After Effects, with mostly effective results. The only thing I think needs a bit of work is the transition between the photographed stop frame stuff and the vectors you've been working on... looks a bit weird skipping from one to the other.
Other than that, You just need to get the Dvd on the go and you'll be fine!
Erm.. I wrote on my feedback sheet that "your story boarding is kickass" I think that's your strength in this module. :)
Sorry again for the lateness of this, hope it helps!
